What's with the Tootsie Roll?
When Wooster seniors hand in their research projects, they’re handed back a Tootsie Roll and a cherished black-and-gold button that proclaims, “I Did It!"
On the final day Independent Study projects can be turned in, the senior class gathers together for Wooster's signature celebration – I.S. Monday. You’ll see high fives and hugs, Tootsie Rolls (candies, costumes, and inflatables!), turn-in photoshoots with friends, and a Mardi Gras-style parade with the entire College cheering on you and your classmates.
Filling the Arch
Every winter, as snow accumulates in Wooster’s Oak Grove, students work together into the wee hours of the morning to pack our iconic Kauke Arch with snow in the hopes classes will be cancelled the next day. While the chance of cancelled classes is highly unusual, generations of Wooster students insist the fun of working together as a team of Fighting Scots to fill the arch is a memory likely to last a lifetime.
In Their Own Words
For many, the community at Wooster is meaningful, transformational, and lifelong. Don’t just take our word for it, hear from our students:
