Put Your IB Skills to Work with Research and Experiential Learning
Since 2002, U.S. News has consistently recognized outstanding undergraduate research and senior capstone projects. Only Princeton University and The College of Wooster have earned spots on both lists each year. Independent Study (I.S.) replaces one of your four classes each semester of senior year, offering an exclusive opportunity to research a topic you care about. During this period, you're a scholar engaged in 1:1 mentorship, ensuring your I.S. experience is unique and impactful.
As a Scot, you'll also enhance your college journey through internships, study abroad, service commitments, and intentional career planning.

"The transition from IB to higher academia finds its sweet spot in Wooster; my high school experience gave me foundational reading, writing and analytical skills, which Wooster has helped me further develop and polish. (Wooster's famous Independent Study is essentially a bigger, more robust and hands-on Extended Essay, after all!)
My CAS hours and the commitment to community service instilled in me are sentiments reflected in the student body on campus, and there are myriad opportunities to get involved with both the town of Wooster and Wayne County at large."
